Gaining interactivity

Paul Okunlola, assistant editor for the national daily newspaper The Guardian in Nigeria, says he is about to get much more involved in the newspaper's online activities. He reports mainly about the environment, but will now take on the task of evaluating the newspaper's online strategy. "Whereas most of the newspapers here are very online-oriented, we are still very print-oriented, not just the company but our readers as well. However, we have to look carefully at what we should do to create more interactivity and, naturally, all of the user-generated content issues being discussed here are very helpful. Of course, making money is always in the back of your mind."
